Let us see if maybe we can tell you a little more about the practice of Orthodontics and perhaps answer some of your questions along the way.

Dr. Kaplan received his specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Washington. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Since 1973 he has been a member of the faculty of the Department of Orthodontics of the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, rising to the rank of Associate Professor. He continues to teach at the university one day a week. He is a Past President of the Oregon State Society of Orthodontists, and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Edward H Angle Society of Orthodontists. Since 1980, Dr. Kaplan has been in private practice in Salem and Dallas.

Dr. Carter is a fully-trained specialist in orthodontics. He attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where he completed his pre-dental training and studied Russian. He received early acceptance into the Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry and graduated in 2004 with high honors, receiving his DMD dental degree. Dr. Carter completed his orthodontic specialty training at OHSU in 2006 and received his masters degree in orthodontics.

Dr. Carter lives in West Salem with his wife Misty and two children Zac and Ashley. He enjoys mountain and road cycling, fly-fishing, speaking Russian, and most of all camping in the great outdoors with his family.

Dr. Carter is fully committed to the excellent orthodontic treatment of children and adults and treating everyone with respect, with care, and with a smile.
